Acupuncture Achievements in "Sheng Ji Zong Lu"

Abstract: "Sheng Ji Zong Lu" (General Collection for Holy Relief) is a monumental work consisting of 200 volumes, which was compiled hy a staff of physicianat Northern Song Dynasty (1111-1117 A.D.). Volume Nos. 191-194 are special works in relation toacupnnctnre and moxibustion. The author holds thatthis book is a good documentary treatise, which isclear and well-organized. The main achievements are:1. having certain knowledge to the macrostructureof the human skeleton; 2. unifying the arrangementof the points in order; 3. bringing play to acupuncture prescription; 4. making contraindications ofsome points more reasonable.
