Abstract: It has been observed that the relation of peri pheral sympatho-adrenergic nerve to acupuncture analgesia in rats, in which 6-hydroxydopamine (83mg/kg, free base, i. v.) was nsed to specificallydestroy the peripheral sympatho-adrenergic nerve inthe experiment. The extent of damaged peripheralsympatho-adrenergic nerve was determined by themethod of fluorescence histochemistry. The results showed that 6-hydroxydopamine badneither influence on rat’s somatic basic pain threshold nor acupuncture analgesia, in other words, theperipheral sympatho-adrenergic nerve had no relationto the basic pain threshold and acupuncture analgesia.
