Clinical Application of Ear Acupuncture Anaesthesia in Operation of Fossa Cranii Posterior

Abstract: This paper reports the effect 290 cases of fossa cranii posterior operated under ear acupunctureanesthesia, including 169 cases of partial sensoryroot amputation of trigeminal nerve, 84 cases ofacoustic neuroma resection and pearl tumor resection,cerebellar cyst resection and occipital osteoma operation. The longest time for operation was 9 hours.The effective rate was 96.8%, in which Grade Ⅰand Grade Ⅱ made up 87.2%. The points selectedare all ear points, Shenmen towards Kidney, Lung,Forehead towards Occipit, and Heart. The electricalneedle (3-8 hertz) should be applied as the mainmethod. The auxiliary medicine used before opcrationare intramuscular injection of 0.1 g luminal, subcutaneous injection of 0.5 mg atropine, intravenousdrip of dolantin (1 mg/kg, body weight).
