Temperature Control Optimization for Semiconductor Laser Diode Based on Particle Swarm Optimization

Abstract: The wavelength of semiconductor laser diode(LD)varies with the temperature,therefore the temperature must be controlled very accurately so that LD can work stably.The effect of PID control for temperature is closely related to its integral and proportion of differential three parameters.The paper uses particle swarm optimization to optimize the PID parameter of temperature control system for LD,selects ITAE as the fitness function,and compares the control result based on parameter from PSO and Z-N.The simulation result shows that this optimized algorithm accelerates the convergence,the setting time of system is cut down from 150sto 50s,the maximum overshoot of system is reduced from 18%to 4%.The dynamic performance of system,is effectively improved.
