Development of Cable-Controlled Deep Submersible Rescue Vehicles in China:Key Technologies and Primary Schemes

Abstract: In general, there are 2 types of deep submersible rescue vehicles(DSRVs) in the world: the autonomous underwater DSRV with batteries inside and the cable-controlled DSRV with electricity supplied by the mother ship through the cable. As a result of ample power supply, the cable-controlled DSRV can ensure continuous rescue. Therefore, the most advanced DSRVs in the world are all cable-controlled DSRVs. This paper focuses on the system structures and key technologies of cable-controlled DSRVs, and conducts comparative analysis on existing domestic technologies based on key technologies. In view of the analysis results, this paper briefly discusses major technological parameters and key technological solutions, and presents primary schemes for developing key technologies in the fields of manufacturing, electricity distribution, as well as rotary skirt and pressure-resistant structures. These schemes can provide reference for the development of cable-controlled DSRVs in China.
