Design of a Pressure and Temperature Preservation Storage Device for Deep-Sea Hydrothermal Samples

Abstract: A set of pressure and temperature preservation storage device for deep-sea hydrothermal samples was designed, which is composed of two parts: the structural system and control system, achieving long-time automatic storage while maintaining the original pressure and temperature of the hydrothermal sample. This system can realize partial transfer of the sample from the storage device to the follow-up culture and analysis equipment. The structural system consists of a supporting frame, a cylinder and the automatic pressure preservation system. The cylinder insulates and stores samples, and the pressure preservation system can maintain the original pressure of the sample for a long time. The control system includes a PLC which can control the heating, realizing automatic acquisition and entire recording of the sample’s state parameters. The whole system, both simple and compact,has complete functions, providing a safe and reliable alternative for long-time pressure and temperature preservation storage and transfer of deep-sea hydrothermal samples.
