Abstract: The traditional PLC often use CAN as its expansion bus.The rate of CAN bus is often difficult to meet the require-ments of the industrial.In order to improve the PLC’s communication rate,the paper introduced a communication module as the PLC’s expansion bus based on the industrial real time Ethernet.The design uses FPGA to realize the industrial real time Ethernet.This paper introduces the implement method of the industrial real time Ethernet based on FPGA.Used the timer to implement the communication cycle between the PLC’s master station with the slave station based on the standard Ether-net.The paper provides a detailed description of the Ethernet’s data sending and receiving procedures.Tests show that the module can effectively improve the PLC’s communication rate.
