A Fuzzy Expert System for Diagnosing Faults in the Test Firing Control Systems of Missiles

Abstract: Aim To set up the fundamental structure of a fuzzy expert system for diagnosing faults in the test firing control systems of missiles and to give a concrete implementation. Methods Firstly, the fault mechanism of the test firing control systems of missiles was analyzed in great detail. Secondly, the application of the diagnosis technique based on FPN model was studied. Finally, the design concept and the corresponding realization method of the system were achieved. Results A fuzzy expert system based on FPN model for diagnosing faults in the test firing control systems of missiles was developed. The developed expert system can manipulate fuzzy and accurate knowledges simultaneously and has teh advantages of modifiability and expansibility etc. Conclusion The implementation of the developed system has been proved to be feasible with an actual diagnosis example of the power distribution subsystem in the test firing control system of a certain missile.
