Charge-Inducing Electrostatic Fuze Detecting Technology

Abstract: Aim To research the passive electrostatic target detecting technology used for electrostatic proximity fuze. Methods A short circuit longitudinal sensor was used to sense the charge variation during approaching the target, and a charge amplifier was used to get the voltage output. Some theoretical work was also done based on the electrostatics. Results The detection equation, distance output expression and the design rules for improving detection sensitivity were obtained. Furthermore the voltage output stability under the circumstance of high humidity or low value input resistance of charge amplifier was discussed. Conclusion The charge inducing electrostatic target detecting technology is suitable for electrostatic proximity fuze with high sensitivity and stability.
