Abstract: A systematic experimental study has been conducted an mild Steel tubes of various thickness in their perforation by hard steel spheres. The residaal plastic deformation of materials and perforation mechanism were observed and analysed. Critical energy of perforation and ballistic limit were measured also. An evaluation formula for the critical energy of perforation was developed from the experimental data.
