Abstract: This paper describes in theory the regularity of points of intersection cross hatching lines and the outlines in drawings. It points out a short and simple method with which cross hatching lines can be drawn quickly with computer aided drafting and a subroutine for cross hatching has been developed in FORTRAN. The subroutine program deals sucessfully with cross hatching of views encountered in various special positions and complicated drawings, Once the program is called on, section lines having the same direction and intervals can be drawn accurately for any arbitrarily shaped drawing within the whole sheet of drawing paper. Thus the program can be applied conveniently and widely in engineering drawings
