Abstract: The fast development of informatization has greatly promoted social progress, resulting in increasingly urgent requirements in informatization. The time of "big data" has arrived. In the sector of marine geological survey and even the entire geology, the promotion of new technologies brings about more abundant data contents of research results and ever-enlarging data size. At present, it urgently needs to resolve the problems of the storage and management of vast amount of data, as well as how to apply the thinking way of "big data" to exploit the information and knowledge contained in vast data. The infusion and sharing of big data, and the information analysis on multi-source heterogeneous data have become new topics in the application of geological data, and posed new challenges for the construction of the geological survey database. This paper presents the key problems in terms of data acquisition standard, data model, vast data storage, database structure and functional design, and special data nanlysis, with discussions given on the basis of practice combined with example.
