Application of Dual Randomized Pulse Position Modulation in DC-DC Converters

Abstract: The conventional PWM (pulse width modulation) technology will cause the serious electromagnetic interference because of the high speed switching. Use DRPPM (dual randomized pulse position modulation) technology in DC-DC converter. The method can maintain the same sampling period, based on traditional randomized displacement modulation, add 1 independence displacement variable, because 2 random variables are used at the same time, the random effect is more obviously. Use Matlab simulation to verify the feasibility and correctness of method and carry out test verification in DSP of TMS320F28335. The simulation and test results show that the method can effectively reduce harmonic peak in switch frequency, make output voltage harmonic composition distribution more uniform in wider frequency band range and reduce system electromagnetic interference.
