Survey on Tobacco Using Among the Staff of Center for Disease Control and Prevention in Liaocheng City

Abstract: Objective To explore the knowledge, attitude and secondhand smoke among the staff of the Center for Disease Control and Prevention in Liaocheng City. Methods A total of 521 employees of Center for Disease Control and Prevention in Liaocheng were investigated by questionnaire. The survey included the characteristics of the survey, the smoking rate and tobacco consumption, smoking requirements, smoking status, tobacco knowledge, attitude and ideas. Results The results showed that the smoking rate was 8.06%, all of which were males. The total awareness rate of tobacco knowledge was 48.56%. The rate of "smoking causes lung cancer awareness rate" was the highest, with the rate of 92.90%, while the rate of "smoking causes prostatitis" was the lowest, with the rate of 47.60%. Conclusion Among Liaocheng disease prevention and control system staff, smoking rate and male smoking rate are lower than the national average. The tobacco control job requires more effort. And there was a relative decline trend in the awareness of tobacco-related knowledge, thus needing to strengthen the knowledge of tobacco hazards training.
