Photoelectric Signal Processing System for LED Visible Light Communication

Abstract: In LED visible light communication system,the amplitude of the outputsignal of the photoelectric receiver is relatively small and the profile would be distorted,thus the data transmission rate would be restricted.A photoelectric signal processing system is designed in the paper.The out put signals of the photoelectric receiver are amplified at first,then the single-ended signals are converted to the differential signals,and finally the differential signals enteres into the limiting amplifier for shaping recovery.The experimental results show that the signal processing circuit can shape 800 MHz sinusoidal into square wave.After the signal processing circuit is intergraded into the visible light communication system and a sinusoidal wave with the frequency of 280 MHz was loaded into LEDs,it is verified the processing circuit has a good ability of following and shaping.The data transmission rate can reach up to 560 Mbps,which is the best performance of single-channel LED with OOK modulation.
