Abstract: The great Confucian in the late Ming dynasty,Huang Daozhou enjoys high prestige in the public. He went through a process of conversion from man to god, from man to sage. The cultural connotation of the belief of Huang Daozhou is mainly embodied in his moral character of locality and filial piety and extraordinary academic articles. However, due to the special historical atmosphere of the Ming and Qing dynasties, and the special status of sharing in the Confucian Temple and sharing with Zhu Zi,the belief of Huang Daozhou is not outstanding, compared with other idols of loyalty and filial piety, lacking its suitable carrier. There being his memorial halls and temples in Dongshan,Zhangpu,Pinghe and others in Zhangzhou, and numerous temples in Taipei, such as Jinde Palace, dedicated to Huang Daozhou, the reference to the belief of Lord Guan,Taishigong Lin,etc.,and the cultural development of Zhangzhou can contribute to the honor of the sage Huang Daozhou.
