The Research of the Family Flaunt Their Family Status—— A Case Study of Hakka Zhuang’s Genealogy in Fujian,Guangdong and Taiwan

Abstract: Since Song Dynasty,many me mbers of Zhuang family in Quanzhou,Fujian Province were famous for succeeding in the Imperial Examinations,and Zhuang family in Quanzhou also be called well-known family,so attracted lots of Zhuang families in southern Fujian Province and Taiwan to it.Since Qing Dynasty,the Hakka Zhuang families that were distributed in Zhangzhou,Chaozhou,Huizhou and Taiwan Province continued to flaunt the glorious hstory of Zhuangxia,Zhuang jichang and Zhuang yougong who succeeded in the Imperial Examinations in the Zhuang’s genealogy.In fact,in Fujian and Taiwan,it’s popular that the family flaunts their family status by the members of family that succeeded in the Imperial Examinations after Ming Dynasty and Qing Dynasty.Note that Hoklo people and Hakka people maybe have several points in common,although they are different clans.The common ground reflects in the Zhuang family behaviors of emphasizing the Imperial Examinations and flaunting their family status.And it maybe contributes to rethinking and correcting some study of clans mistakes.
